LOGISTICS & TRANSPORT MANAGER

Our client in the logistics and transport industry, a fast-growing company is searching for an excellent candidate to occupy the position of Logistics and Transport Manager.

The qualified candidate after going through the recruitment process shall be expected to perform but not limited to the following duties:

1. Shall manage the core operational activities of transport and removals of logistics
2. Shall monitor and manage the approved company budget
3. Will be the liaison between the company and its clients
4. Will source for new clients and keep an accurate database of them
5. Select carriers for transportation and negotiate rates and contracts with carriers.
6. Responsible for resolving clients’ complaints and problems.
7. To Keep up-to-date on shipping carriers, routes, rates, and any changes to them.
8. Planning routes and load scheduling for multi-drop deliveries.
9. Responsible for booking deliveries and liaising with customers.
10. To allocate and record materials movements on the transport planning system.
11. Ensuring all partners in the supply chain are working effectively and efficiently to ensure smooth operations
12. Booking sub-contractors and ensuring they deliver within agreed terms.
13. To manage the company’s transport activities

2. Knowledge of transport management activities
3. Ability to use IT to manage affairs
4. Knowledgeable in the transport operations industry
5. Ability to develop a transport management strategy for competitive advantage.

1. Ability to analyze situations to make the right decision
2. Ability to hold subordinates accountable to achieve the expected result
3. Ability to identify problems and find definite solutions before their occurrence
4. Ability to set realistic goals for subordinates following the PMS of the organization.
5. Ability to communicate management intentions

QUALIFICATIONS

1. A good first degree in transport and logistic management or Administration from an accredited institution
2. A Higher National Diploma (HND) certificate in related field
3. International Advance Diploma / Diploma in Logistics and Transport Management
