JOB TITLE: Human Resource Manager
DEPARTMENT: Human Resource
REPORT TO: Chief Executive Officer
JOB PURPOSE:
To develop a Human Resource strategic plan that is integrative to the overall Business plan to hire the right people for the right position at the right time. Spearheading the Human Resource activities of the Business ensuring harmony, peaceful industrial relations, and compliance with the laws related to labour and ensuring good performance management systems. Developing new strategies and implementation plans for business development, knowledge transfer, and establishing good relationships with business partners and state agencies.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop Human Resource strategies that are integrative to the overall Business strategies.
- Develop Human Resource policies and procedures with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for smooth implementation.
- Develop company structure with manning levels.
- Spearhead all employment.
- Set and ensure compliance with recruitment and selection processes and procedures.
- Put in place the best HR Strategies, plans, systems, procedures, and implementation plans that work in all departments and units linked to Human Resources in the organization.
- Responsible for training and re-training staff and putting in mechanisms that ensure knowledge transfer.
- Develop Health and Safety policies and procedures and milestones for effective implementations.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations of the state.
- Shall ensure a healthy working environment that will lessen or prevent workmen’s compensations.
- Must ensure that there is compliance with the laws (Internal and external) that govern both employees and employers. (Labour Act 2003, Act 651)
- Develop a performance Management System (PMS) that is realistic within the business environment and will improve performance for the achievement of the business objectives.
- Negotiate staff salaries or compensation benefits and allowances.
- Develop an accurate records system to keep staff personal records, new hires, permanent and temporary staff, entitlements, promotional trends, pension guidelines, accurate statistical information, insurance, medicals, and other necessary information that would aid management in decision making and for essay retrieval.
- Must own the corporate condition of service, policies, and procedures to inform and explain to staff to the letter the spirit behind them and ensure clarity.
- Periodically conduct HR Audits to ensure standardization, compliance, performance improvement, and avoidance of legal flouts.
- Ensure that, newly engaged staff are well integrated into the business environment, equipped with the required tools that will aid employee task performance.
- Prepare job descriptions (JD) for all staff and must be result and target-oriented.
- Performing any other duties within your competence and capabilities that the employer may assign from time to time.
EXPERIENCE.
A minimum of five (5) years of working experience progressively in general Human Resource practice
Experience in the distribution industry will be an added advantage.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Ability to develop Human Resource strategies and implementation plans for smooth execution.
- Ability to prepare job descriptions.
- Knowledgeable in the labour law act 651 (2003) and other international labour laws.
- Knowledgeable in the data protection law in Ghana.
- Ability to design a realistic performance management system for a new business or study and amend existing performance management systems to improve performance.
- Ability to exhibit professionalism in the discharge of duties and relations with both staff and business partners
- Ability to harmoniously manage employees and ensure good relations between management and staff.
- Ability to develop policies with strong presentation skills.

AGE
Applicant should be between 30 – 38 years of age.
EDUCATION
First degree in Human Resources Management or related field and a certified member of the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioner- Ghana (IHRMP, OR SHRP)
A Master’s degree holder in Human Resource Management, Corporate Governance, or a related field with IHRMP membership.
